✌ 🎉 We are delighted to announce the success of 🎉 the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master DENSYS 2.0 in securing a new funding period from the European Commission, which will extend until 2030 (covering 5 cohorts of students).
📌DENSYS 2.0 will begin in September 2024, continuing the legacy of the DENSYS program, an international program of excellence aimed at training international students from around the world in decentralized smart energy systems.
📌 DENSYS 2.0 aims to equip students with advanced skills in engineering (electrical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering) and a broad understanding of the humanities, enabling them to engage with multiple experts and be key players in a just transition. The profiles of DENSYS alumni and future DENSYS 2.0 graduates are thus resolutely interdisciplinary, international, intercultural, and intersectoral.
📍 The program is jointly designed and implemented by a consortium of four European higher education institutions: the Universite de Lorraine in France (coordinator), the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Spain, and the Politecnico di Torino in Italy.
Over two years, students will study at Universite de Lorraine in the first year, equipping them with an interdisciplinary vision that includes fundamental concepts of decentralized smart energy systems and exposure to the humanities. They will then have the opportunity to specialize at one of the mobility options: decentralized energy integration at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, thermal engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, or energy storage at Politecnico di Torino.
➡ The DENSYS 2.0 strategy is distinguished by five major elements: it specifically emphasizes the decentralization of energy systems, net-zero targets with carbon removal technologies, environmental awareness, reinforced digital skills, and skills in the strategic management of long-term sustainable innovation pathways.
📌We will proudly welcome our first DENSYS 2.0 students in September 2024.
